Mirage Character Guide

Spread the love

Mirage in Apex Legends is comical. Literally, his quips are hilarious. However, his abilities can be used in many creative ways to eliminate the enemy as well as confuse them just enough to take advantage. I’m Brandon (D4Dedication) and let’s have a quick talk about why Mirage actually takes a little bit of skill to use.

Automatically drop a decoy and cloak for five seconds when knocked down.

Mirage’s passive ability, Encore, automatically drops a decoy and cloak for five seconds when you get knocked down. This is a cool ability because every second counts in Battle Royales. We’ve seen time and time again in professional gameplay that the whole match literally comes down to a second or two action. So don’t underestimate this ability as in very situational moments, it’s clutch.

Send out a holographic decoy to confuse the enemy.

His Tactical ability, Psyche Out, sends out a holographic decoy to confuse the enemies. This is where things start to get interesting. When you’re in a gunfight where you and your enemy are trading shots with each other and you both reload; Use this ability to the left which will probably make them shoot at the decoy, you then peak right and start to tag them while they’re confused. Also note that the decoy deploys doing whatever you are doing. If you are crouched, the decoy is crouched. If you are standing and running, so is the decoy. Keep in mind that while this ability is easy to use, its hard to master.

Deploy a team of Decoys to distract enemies while you cloak.

Finally, let’s talk about his Ultimate Ability, Vanishing Act. This ability deploys a total of 6 decoys in sort of a hexagon shape while it cloaks you for about 7 seconds and gives you faster than normal movement. This is what is typically going to get you your kills. You can use this ability directly after putting shots on an enemy and when they realize where you are, you cloak which gives you the ability to flank them or rush up to them while they are confused shooting the decoys. This gives you a HUGE advantage to get the drop on your enemy!

Overall, Mirage is a great legend to use but he does take time to really get the hang of and start making 200 IQ plays. If you are on the fence with spending the 12,000 tokens to unlock him, I say go for it and jump in with someone different. I hope you enjoyed this speedy rundown on Mirage in Apex Legends!
